Bucuti & Tara Beach Resorts helped create an intimate beach ceremony for David Schoonover and Rebecca McCluskey from Delafield, Wisconsin. The couple officially married in Oranjestad's historic Civil House and had their union blessed by Reverend Robert Gibson under a romantic wedding arch, decorated with flowing white fabric, on the powder white sand at Bucuti's beach.
David, a director of sales, is originally from Janesville, Wisconsin and Rebecca, a manager of a rehabilitation facility, is originally from Arlington Heights, Illinois. The couple met on a blind date and got engaged at their favorite stateside hotel, the Elysian in Chicago. Their love was unmistakable during their beach ceremony, as they smiled and kissed endlessly from beginning to end.
Aruba was chosen as their wedding destination for its "favorable weather, and lack of hurricane concerns”. “We chose Bucuti because it is small, adults-only and had an excellent reputation for weddings,” added the newlyweds. “We love everything about Aruba and Bucuti and plan to return annually. We have fallen in love with the destination and wish to thank the resort and the Civil House for a perfect wedding day,” expressed Becky and Dave.
The newlyweds enjoyed their honeymoon in one of Bucuti's luxurious Tara Beach Suites.
