Visit Aruba launches FREE iPhone and Android mobile app

FREE Mobile App for Android and iPhoneLocal web development company CaribMedia has launched the Visit Aruba Guide mobile app as the official app for the popular VisitAruba.com website. The Visit Aruba Guide is a comprehensive travel guide for Aruba compiled by VisitAruba.com including helpful information visitors can use prior to their trip as well as while they are in Aruba. The app is FREE to download for both iOS and Android and includes unlimited updates, offline maps and GPS navigation, an augmented reality viewer and a trip planner. For local companies to be included in the app is completely FREE as a client of VisitAruba.com.

“Any VisitAruba.com client is listed in the app completely for FREE. For us it was very important to recognize the loyalty of our clients over the years, and in conjunction with our 15th year in operation this was something we wanted to give back to our loyal customers.” said Daphne Lejuez, CaribMedia’s creative Director. “We are very thankful to the entire CaribMedia team who worked very hard to make this app a reality and we are sure it will be very successful and helpful to anyone who uses it.” she continued to say.

CaribMedia Managing Director Mark Cesareo mentioned that “We are very happy to have developed the app in conjunction with European company, Tripwolf Gmbh that has developed travel guides for more than 700 destinations worldwide, and has had more than 2 million app downloads to date. Tripwolf is also the winner of the 2012 World Summit Award for Mobile.” Otmar Manuela, CaribMedia’s Senior programmer who headed the project along with the Tripwolf team, mentioned that “One of my goals in the project was to make sure that the app is completely integrated with the VisitAruba.com website making it possible for daily updates and fresh content on a daily basis, and we have achieved that successfully.”

The app is fully usable offline (without roaming) and app users can choose which information they want to be available offline. This means that while out and about, users do not have to have any data connection at all to view content, view maps and find points of interest in Aruba, saving on data transfer costs while in Aruba.
