Oranjestad -- Café Verona, a small eatery with a large wine list, just opened at the Bayside Mall, adjacent to the Cruise Ship Harbor, across Diamonds International. Café Verona serves over 35 wines by the glass, all carefully picked and highly recommended and rated by Wine Spectator Magazine and other famous publications. Café Verona was created in collaboration with Romar Trading, Aruba’s largest purveyors of wine and spirits. The café is nicely decorated with color mosaïque and affords indoor air-conditioned seating as well as outdoor terrace seating for cigar smokers. All Verona’s wines are properly stored and handled and high-end selections are served in Crystal stemware.
Guests coming for dinner may enjoy Verona’s Carpaccio with caramelized garlic sauce or Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail for appetizer. Verona’s Lobster Bisque is made with fresh lobster, cream, butter and finished with cognac while the Caesar Salad and Stacked Insalata Caprese are just-made and bursting with flavor. For main courses Filet Mignon a la Gorgonzola, competes with Grilled Australian Rack of Lamb, center cut of prime Certified Angus Beef, Grilled Filet Mignon and Rolled Chicken Breast, accompanied by garden vegetables, garlic risotto, mashed potatoes or white rice. The main courses are topped with delicious fresh mango and pineapple sauce, raisin sauce, or Casillero del Diablo red wine sauce. Seafood lovers will be gratified with Jumbo Shrimp or Norwegian Salmon, topped with lobster sauce, served with mashed potato, or mushroom risotto. Kids are welcome to choose from their own kid’s menu.
Dutch born Chef Robert also prepares daily Chef's Specials, matched with appropriate wines.
The restaurant offers an EARLY BIRD dinner for guests making reservations between 6 and 7:30 p.m., with a complimentary glass of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot.
