PALM BEACH – This past weekend, A Hindu wedding ceremony based on the traditions and rituals originating over 40 centuries ago from the Sanskrit books of knowledge, known as the Vedas and which form the basis of Hinduism, was held on the beautiful shores of Palm Beach at the Westin Resort, Aruba.
Richard and Avani shared this special moment with friends and family that traveled to the island from the U.S. and India for the destination wedding and reception coordinated by the wedding, special events and banquet teams at the Westin. The majority of the ceremony took place in a mandap (a wedding canopy built of four poles to represent the universe). Each of the five Indian elements—fire, water, air, earth, and space—were represented in the mandap. Agni (holy water) exists as a divine witness to the sacred union, and it symbolizes the illumination of knowledge and happiness. The ceremony was followed by a cocktail reception and dinner.
the Westin Resort, Aruba is one of Aruba’s top choices for destination weddings and events, with a skilled and knowledgeable staff to help tailor each and every detail to fit a variety of budgets, styles, and cultures.
