Topping of the Roof, at Larimar Spa

Palm Beach – The Radisson Aruba Resort Spa & Casino celebrated Friday an important construction landmark with the traditional Spantenbier, topping of the roof rafters with beer, as construction got to the building’s highest point.

The resort’s highly anticipated $5.2 million, 13,000-sq.-ft., stand-alone oceanfront Larimar Spa is scheduled for completion this coming Fall.

“It is no ordinary spa,” says construction specialist Dick Goin, of Hanscomb, Faithful & Gould, “it is a one of a kind facility with beautifully designed treatment rooms, sauna & steam cabins, Vichy showers, relaxation gardens, plunge pools, dedicated areas for manicure, pedicure and hair care, and a truly state of the art gym and fitness center.”

Nayo Construction’s owner Enzo Pezzi, his supervisors and crew, also joined the celebration. The two teams of local and international construction experts are expected to work very hard in the next 30 days to wrap up construction unpack furnishings and install equipment in time for the grand opening.

“This is obviously a major investment,” says General Manager Gary Jutz, “which further demonstrates the complete confidence of Marilyn Carlson Nelson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, at the helm of Carlson Companies, in Aruba.” Further more, Marilyn Carlson Nelson, on the island as guest speaker of the Carlson Summer Finance Conference last September, took time off to attend the corner stone ceremony of the spa, demonstrating her great interest in the project.

“The construction of the elegant Larimar Spa at the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino is part of the resort’s evolution,” Jutz concludes, “as it continues to secure its position as ArubaÂ’s most luxurious resort.”
