Oranjestad -- Daniel Engelhardt just spent three weeks in the USA at Miami Aviation Maintenance with Bravo, Tiara Air’s Short 360 commuter aircraft, participating in the plane’s five week routine maintenance program, side by side with the company’s Jeffrey Deswert, who oversaw the entire process.
Engelhardt, a licensed aircraft mechanic, reports that Tiara Air maintains its equipment to the highest standards required by the authorities here, and in the USA.
In view of those high standards of operations, Bravo, Tiara’s Air second Short 360 got to spend considerable time on the ground for its routine inspection, returning from the USA with a just-like-new bill of health.
Tiara Air’s mechanics working under Tiara Air’s Manager Quality Assurance Hubert Zievinger, a total of 13 aviation professionals, are responsible for the continuous upkeep of both Alpha & Bravo while flying between the islands, while the heavier check ups take place in the US, as recommended by the aircraft’s Irish manufacturer.
Tiara Air also adheres to EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency standards which are the centre piece of the European Union’s strategy for aviation safety.
In addition to that Tiara Air promotes the highest common standards of safety and environmental protection in civil aviation here and in the USA, says Zievinger, then on-going training makes sure that air transport continues to be the safest form of travel.
