Salamander Holdings employees hand over Afls 5,000 for Imeldahof
Palm Beach The kind-hearted employees at Salamander Holdings N.V. recently held their 5th annual BBQ & Yard Sale to raise funds for Imeldahof, the childrens home in Noord.
Like years past, volunteers Julie Partosemito, Sharlin Maduro, Nilo Arcilla, Lientje Thomas, Alma Tagorda and Marlene Purcell arranged every aspect of the event. They also recruited other colleagues Marissa Orbillo, Rowena Banal and Jo-Anne Lacle, a couple of boyfriends; Jenard Gomez and Danny Vermeulen and family members Marleen Lacle, Franklin & Lucia & Emelin Maduro to help out during the day.
The volunteers printed and distributed tickets to all Salamander Holdings N.V. employees, arranged and cooked the food, arranged for a tent, which was donated by Heineken, got the necessary permit and set up everything themselves, while Salamander Holdings N.V. funded the food and other necessities.
When the big day arrived, the employees spent hours grilling and preparing the BBQ boxes, while a yard sale sold off imperfect goods.
In addition to the sales of BBQ tickets and the yard sale, Salamander Holdings N.V. donated 5% of sales from its stores;
The Juggling Fish at the Playa Linda Beach Resort and the Mill Resort,
The Lazy Lizard at the De Palm pier,
T.H. Palm & Company at the Playa Linda Beach resort and
The Coconut Trading Co. at The Marriott Ocean Club and Occidental Aruba Resort, which all stayed open on the day of the fundraiser.
The employees hard work paid off and by the end of the day they had raised over 5,000 Florins, which was much-appreciated by the kids at Imeldahof.
