Oranjestad – Passenger Boarding Bridge certificates were handed out at the VIP room of AAA, the Aruba Airport Authority. The ceremony was attended by a number of airport dignitaries and General Air Service management.
Eight years ago with the opening of the modern, new Reina Beatrix Airport, AAA handled the passenger boarding bridges intent on eventually allowing the airline companies and General Air, Aruba’s largest ground handling company to render the service as well.

Initially, three agents were trained by AAA to be instructors for General Air Services. In time, a total of 16 additional agents achieved certification as Passenger Boarding Bridge Operators. All nineteen candidates passed their exams and were officially certified by Reina Beatrix Airport.
Dimitri Pavlowitch, the General Manager of General Air Services delivered the opening remarks during the festive gathering. He was joined by Mario Bikker, Staff Unit Manager, AAA Airport Development, Eric Martijn, Interim Business Unit Manager, AAA Airside, and Robert Verwoerd, Manager Human Resources of General Air Services, who also helped presenting the certificates to the graduates.
The five day training program was followed by a theoretical exam and hands-on practice.
