Renaissance hosts AME's farewell banquet

Oranjestad.-- More than seventy European travel specialists participated in the Aruba Meets Europe convention which unfolded here last week. Renaissance Island was honored with hosting the convention's farewell banquet and award ceremony. Delegates hopped fast boats at the Renaissance Marina Hotel and were safely transported across the bay to the Renaissance private island.

Carla SmitsThe resorts' Sales and Marketing team with Carla Smits at the helm rolled out the red carpet for the visiting dignitaries. The evening started with a casual toes-in-the-sand cocktail party, and continued with a gourmet dinner buffet served on the edge of the water. The private island chefs surprised visitors with an excellent interactive dinner event featuring fresh fish, lamp chops, certified Angus beef steaks, interesting sides and spectacular dessert - flamed banana crepe suzette with vanilla ice cream. Also sharing the pleasure of hosting the evening the island's Minister of Tourism, the Aruba Tourism Authority and members of the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association.

The guests, top European producers came here to experience Aruba's vacation product first hand. They hailed from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, the Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and the UK and they spend almost a week on the island gathering information and connecting with hoteliers and activity operators.

AME's delegates are pictured here on Renaissance Island on their last night on the island, enjoying the beauty and serenity of the magical location, as well as the warm and welcoming party ambiance. While some have been working with the island for a while, most of them were new and very impressed with the quality of Aruba's hospitality.
