Occidental Grand Aruba is now certified to deliver Aruba Promises

Palm Beach – The first group of employees at Occidental Grand Aruba to be trained in the Aruba Promises program recently enjoyed a special ceremony in the hotel's grand ballroom, where top Occidental executives were present to congratulate the employees for having completed the Aruba Promises training.

Aruba Promises is a training program that was launched last year by the Aruban government in an attempt to raise tourism awareness and improve service and elevate standards in the hospitality and hotel industry.

Approximately 160 employees were trained during a total of 5 sessions, which were given by AMTI (Aruba Management and Training Institute) Trainers, Cirilo Koolman, Martin Ras and Rene Leander.

The employees were taught the top ten Aruba Promises, and showed great interest and a commitment to applying them in their daily work.

To reinforce Occidental's commitment to the 10 Aruba Promises, the hotel has also developed an internal campaign where each month the emphasis will be put on a single promise; with the final objective of making these 10 promises a habit of each and every employee of the hotel.

By the end of March all the Occidental employees will have received their training.

On stage to congratulate the Occidental employees with their Aruba Promises certification were Occidental Grand Aruba General Manager Miguel Eugene, Occidental Regional Director of Operations, Andres Pichardo, and Cristina Gonzales, Corporate Director of Human Resources. Also present were AMTI's trainers and Director Roy Mezas, as well as Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association CEO & President Jorge Pesquera, who congratulated the employees for their achievement.

The training was coordinated by Loriana Granillo, Regional Quality Coordinator, Corina Alvarado, Regional Training Manager, and Occidental Aruba's Quality and Human Resources Departments.

Occidental Grand Aruba would like to thank the Aruban Government and the Freeman Group for developing such an excellent program like the Aruba Promises project and thanks the trainers of AMTI for their professionalism. At the same time Occidental Grand Aruba would like to encourage the complete tourism industry in Aruba to take advantage of this valuable tool.
