PALM BEACH -The Aruba Tourism Authority awarded the first-ever Goodwill Ambassador distinction to Maisie Ardis. The certificate was presented by the Aruba Tourism Authority during a champagne and cheese reception held in the Westin's lobby lounge for Maisie and her family.
Guests that have been traveling to Aruba for ten consecutive years or more are awarded the Distinguished Visitor certificate, and those choosing Aruba as their vacation destination for 20 years or more are Goodwill Ambassadors. Maisie has previously qualified for both of those certificates, and now her love for Aruba prompted this new certificate.
Maisie has her own travel agency, which her son oversees along with his duties as president of ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) for north New Jersey and New York. Maisie herself is credited for bringing many travelers to Aruba year after year, which she calls "the most beautiful island on earth." In fact, two of Aruba's Distinguished Visitors are her two grandchildren, who have been coming to Aruba for 18 years, and will receive their Goodwill Ambassador titles in two years.
The Westin Resort & Casino, Aruba's Director of Sales Pat Donovan organized the champagne and cheese reception, and many of the Westin's management and associates stopped by to personally congratulate Maisie for her award, and thank her for choosing their resort for many of those 30 years she has made Aruba her home away from home.
