Oranjestad. – William Shaw, Marriott President and COO visited Renaissance Resorts here, and was warmly welcomed by resort developer Eduardo de Veer who also served as his personal tour-guide for the afternoon.
William Shaw, his wife and a considerable entourage of Marriott dignitaries arrived at the Marina Hotel for a site inspection Saturday. Their tour of the resort included an ocean front room, the Ambassador Suite, Okeanos Spa, L.G. Smith Steak & Chop House, and the Crystal Casino.
All slot machines at the casino were especially programmed to display: Welcome Mr. William Shaw, on their electronic message windows. The dignitaries enjoyed a private showing of Aruba Panorama and a photo opportunity with the beautiful Let’s Go Latin dancers.
The tour also took visitors via the Renaissance Mall to the dock from which a fast boat zipped them across the channel to Renaissance Private Island where they inspected the flamingo beach, the water sports facilities, the gym and the tennis courts.
Upon their return to the Marina Hotel they were treated to a cocktail party at the Crystal Lounge where Gerardo de Veer, Rik Timmer and the executive teams of both the Aruba Marriott and Renaissance resorts joined for a social hour.
While visiting his property here Shaw was also introduced to General Manager Hall Williams, Spa specialist Karin Cofino, Executive Chef Bernard Fantoli, Food & Beverage professionals Jaap van Dam and Martrude Rutgers and Marketing & Sales executives Carla Smits and Stef Nas.
General Managers Rick Zeola and Balan Paravantavida joined Director of Sales Joshi Anant representing the Aruba Marriott resorts.
