Gold list world's best places to stay ranks Radisson #1

Famed Conde Nast Traveler of January 2005, recently published its Gold & Reserve list of 700 of the World Best Places to stay. Five of Aruba’s premier properties made the grade, among them the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino, the Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club, the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino and the Wyndham Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino.

The results are in and Aruba struck gold, says the Aruba Tourism Authority in a special press release.

Apparently, more than 20,000 Conde Nast Traveler subscribers weighed in with their opinions and completed the 2004 Readers’ Choice poll, an annual survey now in its eleventh year. The Conde Nast Traveler Gold & Reserve List ranks the world’s top hotels, resorts & cruise lines. The results often guide sophisticated travelers when planning a trip, states the Aruba Tourism Authority, extending its heartfelt congratulations to all of the island’s properties featured on the prestigious list.

"As outlined in the publication," says General Manager Jeff Lesker, "in its 2004 survey, Conde Nast Traveler asked readers to rate destinations according to their preferences in rooms, service, food, location, design and activities. As results were tallied the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino outscored its neighbors and achieved an excellent  79.0 rating. Upon the resort transformation and reopening around the Millennium, Lesker adds, in one of the executive team's strategic planning sessions, management pledged to become over time the #1 property on the island. Conde Nast readers in the aggregate score positioned it as #1, evidence that the resort arrived at its desired ranking achieving its stated goal in the process.

As a matter of interest, readers found the rooms and the service at the Marriott Aruba Ocean Club best on the island; the Hyatt Regency & the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino tied for food; Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino won best for location, while the Wyndham Aruba Resort Spa & Casino was rated best for activities.
