The Aruba Gastronomic Association held its sixth annual "Christmas in October" event on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm at the Renaissance Conference Center. Many have attended this festive party and tradeshow before where AGA restaurants present their holiday menus and special offers. Delicacies of each restaurant were presented for tasting - from seafood tempura, crepes, picadillo, ceviche, tapas, jerk chicken, and paella to sushi, keshi yena, salmon, scallops, shrimp, lobster, turkey, ham, crab cakes, bouillabaisse, pan bolo, crepes suzette and more!
There was holiday ambiance, music, raffles, and surprises - even a Santa and snow! The beautiful Christmas decorations of Flora Market transformed the Renaissance Conference Center into a winter wonderland.
Though everyone certainly enjoyed "Christmas in October", this event was of special interest to those who plan holiday dinners for their employees, colleagues, family and friends. It was the perfect opportunity to select the venue for holiday parties and make reservations early at AGA restaurants.
This year's AGA restaurant participants included Amazonia, Aqua Grill, Bella Luna, Benihana, Buccaneer, Captain's Table, Chez Mathilde, Cuba's Cookin', Driftwood, French Steak House, Gasparito, Hostaria da Vittorio, Iguana Joe's, L'Escale, La Dolce Vita, Old Cunucu House, Pirates Nest, Rumba, Scandals, Sole Mare, Sunset Beach Bistro, Tango, Twinkletones, Ventanas del Mar, and Waterfront Crabhouse.
The wines, spirits, and beverages of Consales, Licores Aruba, Romar Trading, and Isami Trading added much holiday cheer. Other exhibitors included Island Temptations, Animal Rights Aruba, and Aruba Management Training Institute.
