We invite everyone to pass by Ling and Sons IGA supercenter and try our Hollands newHerring! The herring is cleaned, the head is removed and it is conserved in a special way with salt. The 'Hollandse Nieuwe' is typically eaten with raw onions and pickles. The Dutch way of eating it: first picking it up by the tail and then letting it slide into your mouth gradually and is available for only 5.50!
Or eat your herring on a sandwich, it's called a 'Broodje Haring', meaning 'Herring Sandwich' and priced at only 5.95 AWG! All these fine fish delicacies can be bought at Ling and Sons of course!. The herring had more than enough plankton to eat this year, causing the herring to be more tender and carry more fat. Do not be be scared of the word fat as the herring is known for its omega 3 fats, which is very important for us humans. Omega 3 is good for the hart, arteries and for our brain! According to modern science each person needs up to 1,4 grams of omega 3 fats per week in order to live a healthy sustainable life. So what are you waiting for?
