Distinguished judges of National Bar Association enjoy welcome reception

PALM BEACH - In january, a reception was held for members attending the National Bar Association Judicial Council & Board of Governors Mid-Winter Meeting 2005, which was conducted over the course of four days at the Wyndham Aruba Beach Resort and Casino.

The group of distinguished judges from the United States was welcomed under Wyndham's grand palapa by Aruba's Minister of Tourism, Edison Briezen.  Also in attendance were representatives of the Aruba Tourism Authority and the Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association's CEO, Jorge Pesquera. Over cocktails and hors d' oeuvres, the conference attendees mingled and enjoyed live music by Typico Amigoes, who played many of the island's traditional tunes.

During the conference, in addition to a schedule of practical seminars held on-site at the Wyndham, the judges had the opportunity to sit in on and observe court proceedings of Aruba's judicial system. Honorable Craig S. Strong is the Judicial Council Chairperson, with Honorable Ramona Roberts chairing the Mid-Winter Planning Committee with co-chairs Honorable Marcella Holland and Honorable Cynthia Diane Stephens.
