Ciclovia was the name for the recently introduced traffic free sports/athletic activities on a select main street held in different barrios for and by residents of the barrio.
This Sunday, May 15th in San Nicolas, beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon until around 7:30pm Aruba will again witness another activity replete with numerous sports activities and family fun on the open traffic free street. . .only this time, under a new name: Aruba Activo!
This activity draws many, many people from their homes, especially our children. Like in past activities, there is a full program full of total motion.
The activities will be divided into six posts, so as to afford everyone the opportunity to enjoy exactly what they want to do this Sunday afternoon.
Post One: At Joe Laveist Sports Park:
White Sand area - Volleyball.
Basketball held - Muay Thai Kick Boxing
Basketball field - Boxing
Basketball field - Jiu Jitsu
Basketball fIeld - Basketbal 1
Major field - Cricket
Post Two: On the sand field in front of Joe Laveist Sports Park BMX cycling (field will be divided into two sections) Diversified Athletics
Post Three: At the new Arubus Parking lot in San Nicolas - Tai Chi Classes 4:00 to 5:00pm - Mission activity 5:00 to 6:45pm The much loved Zumba from 6:45 to 7:30 pm. For the children and adults alike, there will be the domino and Checkers teams under the overhead area.
Post Four: under the tents at the Joe Laveist Sports Park
There will be the Little League tent. Baseball & BMX, Prickle ball and Taek Wondo
Post Five: On the CMB parking lot Here is where the children’s favorite Paintball game will be held from 5:00 to 6:00pm
Other activities will be:
Skateboarding, Bike tour, jogging and others.
Post Six: On the Arubus Parking lot, which will serve as the center of information, where various sorts of information will be available from:
1. IDEFRE,
2. Dept of Public Health.
3. SVB,
4. Muskieten bestrijding
5. Tang So Do.
6. Athlete’s Foot,
7. Mike’s Disco,
8. Emergency Response Team of Aruba
You are encouraged to come out and enjoy an afternoon of fun filled activities in San Nicolas while enjoying the beautiful setting of the sun in the company of family and friends. This is an excellent way to begin your week with energy and vigor.
