Cesar Maduro, nominated for the Shoco award

Oranjestad. -- Ricardo Malmberg, Director of the Board, De Palm Corporation N.V, personally nominated Cesar Maduro for Employee of the Year, of the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association.

Cesar has been working 4 years at De Palm Tours and during this period has shown excellent customer service skills and has proven to be a valuable member of the staff.

Even though Cesar has not always been working in the Hospitality Industry, he has demonstrated right away that customer service comes naturally to him and that his real talent lies in entertaining guests and making them feel at home, on beautiful Aruba.

“It is employees like Cesar that make Aruba a special vacation destination,” says Malmberg, “and that lures visitors to return time and time again.”

Guests have complimented Cesar for his performance and asked for him by name, Malmberg adds. Cesar’s reputation preceded himself, and word of mouth has it that he make sailing on board De Palm Pleasure an unforgettable experience.

Cesar is also great with his colleagues, always willing to help out and cooperate. For that he enjoys respect, trust and friendship. He is a role model for all departments.

The Shoco Awards of excellence were handed out for the first time, during the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association Ruby Jubilee, at the Renaissance Convention Center. Nominees for the recently-created Shoco award were sent in for consideration by a panel of experts supervised by the University of Aruba.

The Shoco, a local indigenous bird, represents creativity, vision and wisdom, says AHATA CEO Jorge Pesquera. The awards will from now on be awarded each year, recognizing contributions of gifted and driven individuals among the association’s allied members and among the hotels.

Julio Payare, the Jolly Pirates, won Employee of the Year in the allied member category. He shared his nomination with Cesar Maduro, De Palm Tours.
