Aruba sparkles even brighter with opening of exclusive Swarovski Boutique

Oranjestad – Downtown Oranjestad can now sparkle a little brighter, as an exclusive Swarovski Boutique opens its doors today in the shopping center of the newly renovated Central Bus Station

After having just recently opened an exclusive Mont Blanc boutique, jeweler Kelly Alwani of Shivas Jewels & Gems has now opened the first Swarovski Boutique in the Caribbean, offering a glittering selection of Swarovski jewelry and home décor items, represented by the elegant white swan.

The luxurious crystal company was founded over a hundred years ago by Daniel Swarovski, who invented an electric crystal cutting machine that revolutionized the jewelry and fashion industries in 1892 and then opened a factory for the industrial production of cut crystal jewelry stones in 1895, in Wattens, Austria.

Faithful to the spirit of its founder, today Swarovski is run in Switzerland by fourth and fifth generation descendants of Daniel Swarovski, employing more than 16,000 individuals around the world. Swarovski continues to with the hearts of people from the most diverse cultural backgrounds and lifestyles with high quality new crystal products in wide-ranging style directions and designs. Contemporary trends are fashionably translated into product lines such as jewelry, watches, accessories, home décor products, gift items and collectible figurines.

The exceptional transparency and purity of the crystal perfected in Swarovski's workshops, along with remarkable brilliance and luminosity achieved through precision cutting, has liberated crystal and created a veritable language of light.

Aside from creating products coveted by people around the world, Swarovski has also shown that it sparkles for a good cause. Since 2003 Swarovski has donated over $1 million toward women and heart disease awareness, through relationships with the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, and the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Movement.

The entire Swarovski Boutique in downtown Oranjestad is designed to sparkle and Swarovski's interior design experts were brought in from Switzerland to create a space that reflected the beauty of the products. Walls are dotted with Swarovski crystals while a stunning crystal chandelier hangs in the center of the boutique. The showcases glitter as brightly as their contents, with special lighting designed to highlight every facet of the crystal pieces.

The exclusive Swarovski boutique carries an extensive line of jewelry, including the company's Spring/Summer 2007 collection, called 'Sands of Time.'

Also available is a selection of bridal accessories and gifts, ranging from crystal adorned tiaras and hair clips to Swarovski crystal filled stemware and photo frames.

For members of the exclusive Swarovski Crystal Society, the boutique in Aruba offers all three of the 'Wonders of the Sea' pieces. The trio of pieces – Harmony, Eternity and Community - depicts a beautiful underwater scene with a turtle, Clown Fish and Banner Fish. If you're not a member of the Swarovski Crystal Society you can sign up at the Swarovski Boutique in Aruba. As a member of the Society you will receive a sparkling crystal Top Shell as a gift, and if you buy all three of the pieces in the 'Wonders of the Sea' trilogy you will receive a Blue Tang Fish, absolutely free!

The Swarovski Crystal Society is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and in recognition of this Swarovski has also created a very special piece designed by Anton Hirzinger, depicting a bee on a delicate Hibiscus Blossom. The special Jubilee Edition will be available to Society members at the Swarovski Boutique only for this year.
