The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino recently held an End of the Year Celebration complete with entertainment and plenty of food and beverage. The managers and supervisors, and All Star Team of the 4th quarter were recognized during the event and also the All Star Team of 2010, Associate of the Year 2010, Supervisors of the Year 2010 and Managers of the year 2010 were recognized for their achievements. After all the awards, associates danced the night away to Tsunami’s music.
The event started with the recognition of the All Star Team of the 4th Quarter. The following associates were nominated for their hard work and dedication during the 4th quarter: Jennifer de Cuba (Casino hard/soft count), Shahaira Schwengle (Casino Pit), Antonio Feliz (Engineering Resort), Erika Croes (Grounds), Luis Koolman (Champions), Marie Gladys Annyluse (Housekeeping Surf Club), Estella Olivier (Housekeeping Resort), Rocio Narvaez (Housekeeping Resort), Yeison Otalore (Housekeeping Surf Club), Rosa Germosen (Housekeeping Ocean Club), Jaison Rodgers (Activities), Meldrick Solognier (Activities), Bryan Angela (At Your Service), Hermina Whyte (Recreation Resort), John v.d. Linden (Vaction Planning), Aysheline Tromp (At Your Service), Shawn Dunkley (Bellstand Surf Club), Benedict Pineda (Front Office Ocean Club), Claudette Groeneveldt (Recreation), Romeo Silam (Bellstand Resort), Margareth Thomas (Tradewinds), Glenn Maduro (Front Office Resort), Ryan van Putten (Loss Prevention), Yasmin Henriquez (Loss Prevention).
The winners of the All Star Team of the 4th Quarter were: Aislinn Maduro (Casino Pit), Mariela Ruiz (Engineering Surf Club), Evelyne Bona (Ocean Café), Jacintha Marval (Housekeeping Ocean Club), Maria Zuleta (Kitchen), Bobby Avecilla (Recreation), Rachelle Lacle (Human Resources).
The Supervisors and managers of the 4th quarter were also recognized.
The following associates were nominated Supervisor for their hard work and dedication during the 4th quarter: Yazira Feliciana (Casino Marketing), Angela Zapata (Housekeeping Ocean Club), Kenneth de Vreede (Engineering Ocean Club)
The first recipient of the Supervisor of the 4th Quarter was Alexander Adoptie from the Simply Fish. Alex has been recognized due to his dedication in Simply Fish. He has done an outstanding job in regards to guest satisfaction and ensuring that every guests’ dinner is a memorable one.
The second recipient of the Supervisor of the 4th Quarter was Gionette Becker from the Resort Front Desk. Gionette has been recognized due to her contribution to the arrival experience and her leadership role with the bellmen and Tradewinds.
Followed we celebrated the Manager of the 4th Quarter. Nominees were: Jeslin Gomez – Wever (Human Resources), Leslie Prea (Executive Offices Resort), Altagracia Lampe (Human Resources), Vincent Vinck (Systems).
The first recipient of the Manager of the 4th Quarter was Richard Paesch (Housekeeping Surf Surf Club). Richard moved to the housekeeping department from Food & Beverage and has done a remarkable job in turning things around in his current area. He managed to have a positive impact on our Guest Satisfaction score and was able to reduce check in villa time by 40%.
The second recipient of the Manager of the 4th Quarter was Alejo Garcia (Kitchen). Alejo has managed to keep the show running with a reduced management staff. Alejo has been managing the whole kitchen operation with out sacrificing the service and has been successful at it.
The executive team also announced the winners for the Supervisors of the Year 2010.
Director of Engineering, Jose Carlos Silveira announced the first winner of Supervisor of the Year: Garfield Collins (Grounds). Garfield is a very dedicated associate who does his work with excellence. He is a very quite individual but knows how to manage his area. He oversees the Grounds for the entire site and has done this remarkably.
Director of Food & Beverage, Steven Marra, announced the second recipient for Supervisor of the Year who was Marloes Massier (Food & Beverage). Marloes has been working with the Captain’s Galley team for little over a year now. She has been managing a big outlet with little help. She has shown great dedication to her outlet and has done an outstanding job with staff and guests.
Managers of the Year 2010 were announced:
Hotel Manager, Louella Brezovar together with Scott Derrickson, General Manager Surf Club announced the two winners. First Koen Hietbrink, we was recognized for his hard work and dedication to the front desk at the resort. His focus has really been on the Guest Satisfaction and driving our arrival experience, which he has been very successful at.
Second up was Jenny Erazo, who was our second Manager of the Year. Jenny has helped in many different areas besides her area this year. She has done an outstanding job in surpassing her sales budget, has helped in events for many events and has taken an active roll in other areas besides her own.
The executive team also announced the All Star Team of the Year 2010. Each quarter the resort recognizes seven hourly associates as the ‘Employees of the Month’. Winners from each month’s All Star Team then become nominees for the All Star Team of the Year and ultimately the resort’s Associate of the Year. The All Star Team of the Year for 2010 includes: Helen Ruiz #131;‚(Events), Jielu Wu (Kitchen), Aislinn Maduro (Casino Pit), Doralba Quintero (Engineering Surf Club), Jacintha Marval (Housekeeping Ocean Club) and Bobby Avecilla (Recreation). Each All Star Team winner received congratulatory letters and plaques as well as $300, dinner for two in one of Marriott’s restaurants and an Ipad.
Kevin Schwab, General Manager & Vice President and Barbara Bressat – Bronswinkel, Director of Human Resources, made the last announcement of Associate of the Year 2010 who turned out to be Rachelle Lacle from the Human Resources. Since joining the company in 2002, Rachelle has worked in different areas of the hotel like the Casino Marketing and At Your Service. Rachelle joined the HR staff in 2006. During the last year Rachelle has work very hard by having a true focus and passion about what she does every single day. She continues to have a positive attitude no matter the struggles of the every day operation, takes each interaction, whether with guest or associates to level that she never experienced before. She has also taken several initiatives during the year that had a great impact on the HR office but also the entire property.
The Associate of the Year, Supervisors of the Year and Managers of the year, received a congratulatory letter from the Vice President & General Manager as well as a plaque, $500,- in cash, a round trip ticket to the continental US or Caribbean, and a complimentary 5 night say at any Marriott property.
