Aruba Marriott Announces New Vice President and General Manager

Kevin SchwabARUBA – December 1, 2009 – Kevin Schwab has been named Vice President and General Manager of the Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino as well as Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club and Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club, both Marriott Vacation Club properties. Boasting decades in the hospitality industry, Schwab brings immeasurable luxury experience, deep familiarization with Marriott and new energy to the properties.

As VP and General Manager of the Aruba Marriott, Schwab will oversee the financial and physical operations of all three properties, as well as develop and implement service-training programs. Fully dedicated to maintaining the resort’s reputation for high service standards, he will draw upon his success and experience in luxury property management to take the resort to a new level in high-end hospitality excellence.

Schwab’s luxury-focused background will help ensure the property reaches its full potential following the recent $50 million renovation that transformed the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. His experience and expertise working with high-end, service-oriented properties make him the perfect complement to the team at the Aruba Marriott.

Most recently spending time as Vice President and Managing Director in Asia during pre-construction on the Ritz-Carlton and Marriott project in Macao, Schwab has been making his mark with Marriott for more than 25 years. His experience includes ten years as a General Manager at luxury properties that include the Ritz Carlton, San Juan and JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City. He has been honored with prestigious awards such as ‘Executive Chef of the Year’ and ‘Manager of the Year’ and has contributed to several hotel openings and takeovers including Marriott resorts in Argentina, Venezuela, Peru and Puerto Rico.

Also a steward and valuable asset to his community, Schwab and his wife Nadine enjoy doing volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity and giving back to the community around them.

Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino boasts 411 guestrooms -- the most spacious on the island -- each with large, private balconies overlooking lush landscape and the sparkling waters of the Caribbean Sea. Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club, fully completed in 2007, boosts 450 of the most luxurious one, two- and three bedroom units and features Aruba’s largest swimming pool, the Lazy River.
