Aruba has embarked on week when several very significant events are scheduled to take place. Of significant importance is the Royal visit of Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands, then the second Aruba Green Conference, the signing of the TNO contract, the commencement of the Rietveld Art Academy, then there is the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Parliament and the inauguration of the House of Europe. Each of the above mentioned activities are in the interest and for the benefit of Aruba, which again enables Aruba to shine on the world stage. It has been a long time since Aruba has had so many wonderful events in such a short span of time.

After many weeks of dilligent preparation, the alternative and sustainable energy conference, the Aruba Green Conference II, will open. At the same time top executives of theTNO of TU Delft will be on Aruba for the signing of the contract to open a center of investigation and research here on the island. Also, "Cas di Europa" (the House of Europe) will open its doors and students of the Rietveld Academy will begin their course of study in art here in Aruba. If that were not enough, this year Aruba also celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Status Aparte (apart status within the Dutch Kingdom) and, on the 25th of October Aruba's Parliament was formally instituted and this historic ocassion also deserves remembering and celebrating!

Green Aruba

Just like last year, this year Aruba's Green Conference has a line up of some of the most outstanding personalities on sustainability and alternative energy; individuals respected around the globe for their expertise on and dedication to green energy. These men and women will be here to share their knowledge with us and to offer a helping hand where necessary in our quest for green energy. Interesting and perhaps heated discussions will be conducted during this Aruba Green Conference II. Information, suggestions and proposals forthcoming from this conference will certainly be taken into account and what can be applied will be applied soon after. Looking back at last year's Green Conference, this is exactly  what transpired. That which was agreed upon in that conference has been effected during this year.

Cas di Europa

The House of Europe will be a tremendous asset to Aruba. His Royal Higness the Prins of the Netherlands will be the keynote speaker at the mega Green Conference here. The European Commissioner for Development, Mr. Piebalgs arrives here on Thursday to inaugurate the House of Europe. He is scheduled to speak at the Conference on the same day of his arrival to Aruba. The House of Europe will be a center of information which will serve as a bridge for European entrepreneurs and business owners who want to enter the Latin American market. Likewise, Latin American companies who want to do business with countries in Europe will be able to do so via Aruba. This, arrangement will, obviously, be very lucrative for Aruba!
The House of Europe will be of great importance to Aruba in the further development of our economy. Reportedly, all eyes are on Aruba as she takes huge steps forward towards sustainable development in all its facets.
