Sunday sees amazing action, also of local players, at the Divi Resorts Aruba International Beach Tennis Event
The Divi Resorts Aruba International Beach Tennis Event is running towards a close with the action in the sand of Eagle Beach becoming more and more fierce. The Pro's are playing for money, so there is an added incentive to win.
The Italian men, the Brazilian ladies and the Venezuelans are doing great, gearing up towards semi finals and finals. But there are still a few local players in the field: Marieke Buuts and Bertrand Coulet have both earned money! This love match can go and take it easy for a while! Marieke is playing the single final at Senor Frogs, while she is still playing for the doubles title together with Julie Labrit from St. Maarten. Let's see if this strong and motivated team can take on the power of the Brazilian girls!
Bertrand and Cado de Lanooy formed a great alliance, but they were no match for the Italian players in the quarter finals. Alas, but they are among the best in the world, so there is nothing to be sad about.
In the amateur division the sun is shining: Dorilis Werleman and Aat Hoek won the title in the Advanced mix category, Maureen and Marco de Mooij are the Fun Mix champions. Fun Ladies Kock and Scholliers from Aruba won the title as well. Still to be played at the moment this paper went to press were Jossy Mansur and Hylke Nijhuis - they will meet either Mora/Useleti, Lovera/Sigouyd, Falcoa/Pereira in their route to the top! What a great team!
After Sizzling Sunday comes Mindblowing Monday: the ladies and men's single finals, that will be held at Senor Frog's at The Village.
