Aruba’s popularity has grown dramatically in recent years, with the numbers of visitors from the UK up by more the 60 per cent in the last two years alone.
Those that have been know exactly what all the fuss is about and now the idyllic Eagle Beach and Palm Beach has been named the third best beach in the world, by TripAdvisor’s users.
It’s not just about the white sand and turquoise sea though, the seven mile strip of beach is also ideal for a wide range of activity from sunbathing, to snorkelling and kitesurfing to banana-boating.
There are always shaded huts for those who’ve had enough of the sun, with the average temperature 28° C, and a variety of beach bars to refuel.
There’s also plenty of beachside accommodation from family properties including the Divi Aruba All Inclusive to adult only Bucuti Beach Resort as well as well-known chains such as Radisson and Marriott.
The beach was pipped to the title by Providenciales beach on the Turks and Cacos islands and the island of Boracay in the Phillipines, which is only 4.5 miles long.
