Aruba-born painter Vanessa Paulina is currently showing some of her latest pieces at Tierra Del Sol. The graduate of Willem de Koning Academy in Rotterdam shares her time between the Netherlands and Aruba. Her paintings reflect her Indian-African-Caribbean roots. Raised in San Nicolas, the daughter of a policeman and a home maker she was surrounded by her siblings and by the neighborhood kids. That same real people still appear in her joyous Caribbean tableaux, depicting the innocence and simplicity of the region in vivid, explosive color.
