$40 Million + Six Months = A New Marriott Resort

PALM BEACH, Aruba – August 9, 2007 – Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino launched their $40 million renovation last month and continues its progress on schedule to finish by the end of the year.

Part of that schedule included plans to make sure that necessary components were in place to provide their guests with updated and current information about the process and planning ahead to create resources and tools to handle guest questions and/or concerns. Two initiatives have been put in place in alignment with that goal, a new website and a Construction Concierge.

The renovations began as planned on July 7th, and shortly thereafter a new website was launched, www.arubaplayground.com, which serves two purposes. First, it introduces the transformation that the Marriott is undergoing and the exciting new look and feel of the resort, including renderings, pictures and descriptions of the planned design changes and enhancements. Second, and more important to potential guests, it provides details about the renovation process including timelines, frequently asked questions and guest resources and contact information. In addition to the website, Aruba Marriott has introduced a new employee position for the duration of the process, a Construction Concierge. This designated staff member is specifically in place to handle all guest queries pertaining to renovations prior to their arrival and to ensure any concerns during their stay are handled promptly. Serving as the main conduit of information regarding updates and progress during the makeover, the Construction Concierge desk will be located onsite in the resort’s lobby, open from 10 am to 4 pm five days a week, with a direct phone extension as well as an email address (297.520.6529 ; concierge.construction@marriotthotels.com).

“We felt it was important to do two things - make sure guests know about the renovation so there are no surprises and address any and all concerns in a personal and timely manner. These tools do that. Beyond the website and construction concierge, which are geared toward the consumer, we also keep travel agents, meeting planners and tour operators updated on the progress on a regular basis so they can in turn keep their clientele informed,” commented Rick Zeolla, general manager of the resort. “Our guests are our number one priority and while the renovation will not interfere with the level of service or the amenities offered to them during their vacation with us, we still want to reassure them of this prior to and during their stay.”
