The Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino is now home to a self-service digital printing kiosk, located at Tropical Breeze boutique in the lobby. Checkpoint Color, Aruba's photo finisher, is now also offering user-friendly digital
processing services at various resorts, among them the Radisson.
The idea, says owner Marjory Vermeer, an award winning photographer herself, is to make digital picture processing accessible and printing instantly available, no wait, no hassle; everyone, even a child, can now process and print photographs, in different sizes, send an e-album, or burn a CD. A simple computer uploads the images from a memory stick, then by touch-screen various simple options are available all ending in one result, great color pictures and instant gratification. With 50% of US households in possession of digital cameras before the end of 2005, adds Marjory, the processing technology is now catching up with the digital camera revolution.
Check it out at Tropical Breeze, plug in your memory card - which stores your digital images - you can then crop, change borders and choose photo size. The machine will produce an invoice which you then pay at the store
cashier. The cashier is turn accesses the finished pictures and delights you with vacation memories, before your vacation is over. Did we mention the service is reasonably priced? It is.
