The preparations for the island's first annual Aruba Wine, Food & Art Festival are now in high gear. Pictured here, the first artist, photographer Heleen Bongers who already delivered her frames of artistic, manipulated snapshots titled Red & White, in anticipation for her participation in the upcoming art exhibit.

Aruba's artist community pledged support to the exciting festival, which will be held at the Wyndham Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino, May 19th to the 21st. Organized by Director of Food & Beverage Franz Sydow and the Aruba Trading Company, the festival will also feature a dinner party prepared by famous local chefs; an evening with the Aruba National Culinary Team, a trade show with over 30 European and American wineries in attendance, seminars, a jazz session, a rock concert dedicated to Freddy Mercury, a Champagne dinner party showcasing the culinary wizardry of celebrity chef Laurent Cantineaux, and naturally, a major art exhibit.

Representatives of the local artist community recently visited the Wyndham Aruba Resort Spa & Casino to inspect the foyer and the new Palm Beach ballroom, where the exhibition will be held, among them Stan Kuiperi, Jani Croes and Gilbert Senchi. The art pieces especially commissioned for the festival will go on display on the 19th, as the exhibition is inaugurated. Kuiperi and Croes who are two of the participants will be in charge of the attractive display, pre-opening. The works by some of Aruba's best artists will remain in view and for sale, until they are auctioned. The public is invited to visit the Wyndham Aruba Resort Spa & Casino on Saturday May 21st, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. for a wine tasting and art exhibition combined with an Aruba Gastronomic Association happening which  promises to be a lot of fun.

Wine, Food & Art will be brought together to highlight the sophisticated and creative qualities of Aruba as a rich and diverse vacation destination.
