CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION

spokesmanMartin Taxson hosted a cocktail party around the pool of the just completed Marriott Surf Club. Taxson who heads the construction team of the complex is probably the only man who ever built anything on the island, finishing ahead of schedule. It is unheard off in Aruba, let alone in the Caribbean. Tom Davis, Senior VP Architecture & Construction complimented him greatly at the party, also listing and warmly acknowledging the great contributions made by local contractors and craftsmen. Also present at the party Alfonso Riverol, the owner of the Wyndham who had just received his construction permit for the expansion of his property. We will break ground within a year, he says, after completing all drawings and plans.

The completion of Phase I of the Marriott Surf Club is a dream come true, stated Balan Paravantavida, General Manager of both the Ocean & Surf Club and Rick Zeolla in charge of the complex in its entirety. So far, the statistics are impressive: Total investment for the complete project, around 300 million dollars; 400 new jobs were created; at present 275 construction workers make their living on the site. The Marriott is developing 45 new projects and Aruba, as far as quality & productivity matches the best in the world . . .
