Aruba’s most famous steakhouse has put together some affordable holiday packages particularly suited to smaller businesses and family events. Restaurant owner Omira Botta, was joined by restaurant manager Rosa Erasmus and Margaret Navas, assistant managing director in welcoming media on Thursday afternoon, to enjoy the newly redecorated and refreshed premises and menu, in celebration of 35 years as one of the island’ s most popular eateries.
Taste testers were welcomed by refreshing white sangria, a house specialty, and sampled their new Picada Tray, both land and sea, which will make holidays much less work for hostesses. At a cost of only $15 per person, El Gaucho prepares an attractive platter with a diverse selection of either seafood or meats; for $28 per person, one can get a combination of both. A delicious tray of steak, lamb chops, sausage, and ribs, which the waiter indicated was a “three-person” platter, could feed five hungry people easily. All platters come with a basket of garlic bread and El Gaucho’s famous assortment of delectable sauces and marinated onion.
The charming eatery is also offering special menus for holiday lunches and dinners for smaller companies, which includes a free glass of sangria for each diner, for groups of eight or more. This can be enjoyed in their new motif, featuring the colors of the Argentinean flag, blue and white. The rooms are also now a showcase for some beautiful, original art.
Through the end of the year, diners will receive raffle tickets with their check. Fill them in and leave in the tumbler at the entrance for a chance to win an all-expense paid vacation for two to Argentina.
