All eyes are on the month of July, that is when the 26th edition of the Aruba Hi-Winds takes place. Riders and surf & kite fanatics from all over the world are invited to come and race in this competition or to be spectators and join this big party that is called Aruba Hi-Winds. Preparations are in full swing and it promises to be a great event all over again. After last year’s 25th anniversary celebration where the PWA World Tour made a call in Aruba, this year things are back to the customary annual Aruba Hi-Winds for amateur racers.
Which does not mean that things will be less spectacular this time. Event organizers Ivar van Luyk and Reinier Middel explain: “This year the focus is of course on the amateur Hi-Winds, which makes it possible to make things better than in the previous years”. The Aruba Hi-Winds 2012 will be held from July 3rd through July 9th, at the world renowned venue, the “Fishermen’s Huts” while “Boca Grandi” will be used again for the Kite disciplines.
The Hi-Winds offer more than just surfing or kiting, a fashion show will be held, there will be a Night kite show and there will be a lounge room under the Dome tent. And more surprises are being prepared!
There will be live performances by Honeypot, Earplugs, Time Banditsz, Datapanik and a Hi-Winds first appearance by Orange Grove. Besides these live performances, Cool FM will transmit 24/7 from its “Cas di Glas”, live on the beach with a special Hi-Winds program.
Hi-Winds invites everybody to attend the Awards Ceremony on July 9th at Paseo Herencia to close this year’s edition in a festive manner.
