Preparations for the formation of a children's Choir is in the works for a recital on Aruba's National Flag and Anthem Day celebrations. This year's National Flag and Anthem Day will mark the end of our 25th Status Aparte Anniversary celebrations.
The formal ceremonies will take place on the morning of March 18 in front of the City Hall Building. The special recital will take place at this site as well. For the special recital the CCDN Commission has succeeded in getting a large group of school children (about 350 kids) to participate in the songs recital. They will sing the National Anthem and 4 other songs. These school children will comprise the national choir.
The orchestra will be under the direction of Johnny Croes who will accompany the children's choir. The national choir will be under the direction of Maybelline Arends-Croes. Each choir participant will receive a special T-shirt to wear during the choir performances. The CCDN Commission appeals to all schools to cooperate with selecting 15 to 20 kids so that they can recruit the number needed for the special national choir. Schools and teachers willing to participate should contact Maybelline Arends-Croes at Telephone 582-1334 or via email: maybearends@gmail.com.
