Paseo Herencia Shopping Center in Palm Beach established a new holiday tradition since opening its doors less than 5 years ago, a gala “lighting of the tree” which, considering Aruba’s limited population, attracts as much of the island population of as perhaps the famous moment in Rockefeller Center in New York, relatively, at least.
In any case, it is certainly a celebrated event this past Friday evening, November 11, with the mall’s management providing traditional entertainment of the season, the famous “Gaita” bands which originate from the Zulia district of Venezuela, but are a beloved part of the holidays on Aruba. “Gaita Unicos” and “Goza Gaita” gave rousing performances as a packed amphitheater awaited the moment the impressive trees, likely the tallest “Kerstbooms” on Aruba, were set alight.
Local media personalities Ruben Garcia and Cherryldine Muller invited Paseo Herencia Marketing and Events Manager Candy Reino-Rasmijn before the TV cameras for this official inauguration of the holiday season in Palm Beach. It was a truly exciting evening for all the family, where all ages were entertained and enjoyed the holiday ambiente to the fullest!
