The two children of advisor and volunteer of the Museum, Frederick and Monica Nuboer, had the honor of signing an agreement with the Aruba Museum to open a Time Capsule buried there on September 3rd., 2011,…. 25 years from now on August 18, 2036.

Both children will open the Time Capsule on August 18 of 2036 to show the community how Aruba was in 2011!

The Nuboer family was chosen because this couple was married on the patio of the Museum. Also, because during the time that Alice Van Romondt was president of the Foundation they had talked about the idea of a Time Capsule. At that time Frederick Nuboer was the only member of the Foundation’s Board who had small children.

There are lots of items in the Time Capsule which are impressions of what Aruba is today. Among the times are: photos of the Airport, the Wharf, City Hall building, Governor’s Office, Parliament, Counsel of Ministers, the Museum and her staff and Board, a copy of the newspaper of the day, today’s music, sneakers currently in style, magazines and articles of importance which reflect the image of Aruba in 2011.

The photos were produced by Tera Group N.V. It will be very interesting to look back at Aruba in 2036 and see what Aruba was like 25 years ago!

Following the presentation everyone in attendance were invited for a snack in the Patio of the Museum.

The evening was graced with folkloric music by the Alma Foklorico group. The intention is to begin offering lectures on the history of Aruba in the Museum very soon.
