Closure of several roads in Aruba this week due to roadworks

The Department of Public Works, DOW, announces to the community in general that this week several roads will be closed for repair works.

Monday, February 21, 2011:  

  • Reconstruction works starts in Paradera on the road in front of the old AAA building, from Paradera # 75A until Paradera # 79. Duration: 15 working days.
  • Laurens Costerstraat will be recapped from the crossing with the La Sallestraat until Laurens Costersraat # 15 Duration: app. 20 working days.
  • Part of the roundabout at Bakval will be closed to put asphalt on a piece of remaining dirt road. There will be no traffic going direction south, only going north direction Malmok, while traffic coming from Malmok going south must make a turn direction Bakval.

Tuesday. February 22, 2011:

  • Reconstruction work of Newtonstraat starling at Newtonstraat 1 until Newtonstraat # 19. Duration: 20 working days.
  • Asphalting of the road Barcadera-Rooi Bosal starting at the crossing Rooi Basal/Barcadera direction POVA Club up to the crossing nest to Barcadera 23, Duration: app. 40 working days.
  • Asphalting Phase I of Topaz road from the crossing of Caya Francisco Figaroa up to Topaz # 59. Duration: 20 working days.

Wednesday, February23, 2011:

  • Asphalting of the Macuarima road, from the Macuarirna preparatory school until Macuarima # 23. Duration: 25 working days.

Motorists are kindly requested NOT to use these roads unless to go home or the office. All the roads will be closed for both directions from 7:00 am, until 4:00 pm. There will be barricades and traffic signs advising motorists. DOW asks for the publics understanding and apologizes for any inconvenience these works may cause.
