Aruba provides heroes welcome to baseball champs

Aruba's team of 15-16 year-olds beat the home team of Bangor, Maine in the final with an impressive 8-1 score to clinch the 50th Senior League World Series Baseball Championship on Saturday August 21st 2010. The world championship, which was held between August 15th and August 21st, featured ten teams from around the world, including five regional champion teams from the USA, European champions Italy, Canadian champions East Park, Latin American champions Aruba and Asia-Pacific champions Saipan. A large crowd of Arubans are expected to give the boys a heroes welcome when they arrive in Aruba from Miami at 13:45 AST. The airport will also offer free parking on this occasion. Aruba's Prime Minister Mike Eman announced yesterday that all public sector employees, where possible, will be given the afternoon off to go to welcome Aruba's champions back home.
