Palm Beach - Bride Sharon Smid and groom Michael Engels chose Aruba as the island for their destination wedding, and the Westin Resort, Aruba, as the host resort for their 50 guests.
The team of wedding and event planners at the Westin are seasoned at making dream destination weddings a reality, and this past weekend's festivities were no exception.
The wedding events were kicked off on Friday evening with a poolside rehearsal dinner with live guitar music and a buffet feast prepared by the resort's award-winning culinary team.
On Saturday afternoon, a picturesque, toes-in-the-sand wedding ceremony was held on the shores of Palm Beach just in front of the resort. Following the exchange of vows, a sunset cocktail and hors 'd oeuvres reception was held, followed by dinner at the Sea Breeze Terrace that included a plated dinner of salad Caprese, filet mignon, lobster tail, and a decadent chocolate bouchon for dessert. After dinner, a live band had the wedding party dancing all night long.
