With the war in the gulf ongoing, Aruba's annual Tourism Conference, ATCA, unfolded undisturbed and according to plan. About seventy-five participants flocked to the island for a three day exchange of information and views. Visitors are cautious, yet working nevertheless at good speed, promoting Aruba and hoping for a fast resolution of the military conflict.
Among conference guests important US charter operators, GWV, Travel Impressions & TNT Vacations; popular internet travel sites such as Expedia & Travelocity; famed wholesalers in the vacation industry GOGO Worldwide Vacations, Certified Vacations and Classic Customs Vacations, as well as some top producers for the island MCM Tours and Player's Choice Tours, in addition to American Airlines Vacations, US Air and Delta Air Lines.
The conference hosted presentations on the first day, at the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino. A marketplace is also on the agenda, taking place at the Radisson's Grand Caribbean Ballroom, the following day. With the Minister of tourism in attendance, and the Aruba Tourism Authority as their hosts, guests are guaranteed to have a good time, mixing business with a bit of pleasure, as Aruba showcases its many wonderful treasures.
