PALM BEACH -- Emmel and Robin Woolbright, from Virginia, have been to Aruba several times over the past few years, so it was an easy decision to plan their fairytale destination wedding on the beautiful shores of Palm Beach, at their resort of choice, Westin Resort, Aruba.
It was a combination of fate and patriotism that brought the couple together. Emmel, a Vietnam veteran, and his father, a veteran of World War II, traveled to Normandy, France in 2004 for the special 60-year commemoration. Robin decided to take her grandfather, also a Normandy veteran, to the same celebration. It was there that Emmel and Robin met for the very first time.
Some five years later, the couple found themselves on the shores of another beach—Palm Beach—to celebrate their wedding.
The couple was joined by 26 guests—family and friend—who traveled to Aruba from all over the United States to attend the festivities. After the ceremony, the Westin's event and banquet team produced a wonderful dinner on the terrace of Sirocco Lounge.
