Aqua Grill, Aruba Trading Company and Duck Pond Cellars presents "Indulgence of the Seven Seas"

Aqua Grill, along with Aruba Trading Company and Duck Pond Cellars presented a night of exquisite food in combination with magnificent wines. Last Monday the well-liked seafood restaurant in Palm Beach held a culinary event titled "Indulgence of the Seven Seas", presenting the finest treasures of the seas. Aqua Grill's Executive Chef, winner of numerous awards, Scout Scheuerman, prepared a superb menu, consisting of seven menu selections that are perfectly paired with seven wines of Duck Pond Cellars. It started out that night with a range of amuse bouches, joined with a 1996 Sparkling Pinot Gris. A special of cool Scallop Ceviche in a Sweet Potato Muffin with a Green Mango Salad, served with a 2007 Riesling, by Blackened Cobia, with Red Pepper Compote, Celery Root Puree and Fried Basil, which matches perfectly with a 2006 Syrah from the Dessert Wind Vineyard were offered that night. Aqua Grill guests had also a chance to savor the special wines of Single Vineyard.

Duck Pond Cellars was established in the eighties, when Doug & Jo-Ann Fries moved from California to Oregon to enjoy their retirement fund. Today, Duck Pond Cellars is a property of Fries and Jenkins families after the Jenkins daughter Lisa married Scott Jenkins. From the fields to the bottles, the family controls all. Duck Pond Cellars grew to be one of the finest winery with 4 areas in the Willamette Valley, Oregon's top producing region. In the last years, Oregon became more and more well liked in the wine world, thankful for a great part to Pinot Noirs. Duck Pond produces Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Scott and Lisa Jenkins were present at Aqua Grill that night to personally guide everyone on all seven plates with the pairing wine, explaining the quality and taste of each wine.
