PALM BEACH, ARUBA (DATE, 2009) – On Monday May 11th a group of 20 students were welcomed by Marriott’s Executive Committee and Training Manager Hely Regales to kick off the start of their 6-week training program at various departments of the Aruba Marriott properties. The group of students is following education at University of Aruba (14) as well as EPI (6). Reason for the 6-week program at Marriott is for the students to find out what it is like to really work in the hospitality industry and if they would really want to pursue a career in this field.
For the second year the Aruba Marriott properties work with UvA and EPI to help students identify their specific interests for the future. The participants coming from the University are all in their first year of the Hospitality program that is offered there and for the majority of these students the experience in the work field at Marriott is their first encounter with the hospitality business.
Each of the 20 students will participate in a rotating schedule so they will have the opportunity to get experience at a variety of departments and explore their own interests. All 3 Marriott properties, the Marriott hotel, Ocean Club and Surf Club are hosting these students.
