Oranjestad -- Senior citizens residents of the San Pedro Pavilion in Oranjestad were treated to an outing this week. They were pushed in their wheel chairs down main street, window-shopping, meetings and greeting then finished the morning excursion at Villa Germania, where the owner, famous for her amazing desserts, personally saw to it that the visitors enjoyed their chocolate cake, tea and coffee.
Easter is coming and the volunteers would like to organize another activity on Monday, March 17, from 2 pm to 4 pm, an arts and crafts session at San Michaels Pavilion, making Easter decorations with the senior citizens over Easter treats for both the residents and the staff. On Wednesday May 28, from 8 am to 12 pm volunteers are needed to take the elderly for a swim at the beach adjacent to the Westin Aruba Resort.
