Aruba Scholarship Foundation Needs Money to Continue

Since Maritza Gonzales went to FIU in 1988 as the first Aruban student to receive financial assistance from Aruba Scholarship Foundation (ASF), more than 100 needy and deserving Arubans have received financial aid from ASF to continue their education overseas. Most chose to go to the United States, a few have studied in Canada, one became a doctor of medicine in Colombia and this year one needy and deserving Aruban student will study law at University of Aruba with the financial assistance of ASF. Although ASF cannot claim 100% success rate, the great majority of students do return to work in Aruba with their diploma.

The cost of education everywhere has gone up significantly and this makes for more families needing more money to allow their children to pursue higher education. To continue with its program to help needy and deserving students, Aruba Scholarship Foundation must get more money and therefore has started a fund drive offering donors a chance to win many beautiful prizes.

Helping Aruba Scholarship Foundation you can win as many as 20 valuable prizes! For a donation of just 5 florins you will get a ticket to a raffle that will take place on October 25, 2007. The first prize is a 2008 Toyota Yaris fully equipped with airco, power steering, etc. Second prize consists of two tickets to Amsterdam on KLM. If you have the ticket to the third prize you will get two tickets to New York on JetBlue. The fourth prize consists of two passage to Cartagena on Aires Airline and a whole week’s stay for two at a hotel in that beautiful and historic city. There is a fifth prize of a digital camera, five prizes consisting of week-end stays for two at local hotels or resorts and finally, ten dinners for two at Aruba’s popular restaurants.

In addition to the students who have received financial aid from ASF, over a 100 have benefited from the Latin America/Caribbean (LAC) Scholarship Program at University of Central Florida that ASF administers for Aruban students under a special agreement with UCF.

Under this program, the selected Aruban students are considered Florida state residents for the purpose of paying tuition and dues. The LAC program saves our students enormous amounts of money. For undergraduate students, the difference is over Afls 25,200 a year, while for graduate students the savings run over Afls 30,600 a year. Collectively, the agreement that ASF has with UCF will have saved the Aruban community over 2 million florins at the end of this year! Two million reasons for the Aruban community to help keep ASF going. Support ASF and get your raffle tickets today.
