Occidental Entertains Martinair

Palm Beach -- Martinair delivered on its promise to fly to Aruba on a regular schedule from Holland. The inaugural flight offered an opportunity for Dutch, German & Belgian travel writers, travel whole-seller and airline executives to discover and explore the wonders of the island and all its vacation options.

Occidental Resort hosted the dignitaries for a tropical night on a terrace at the edge of Palm Beach. The elegant dinner party at Desires Restaurant was given by General Manager Eugene Miguel and Director of Sales Mylene Marquez.

The resort chefs prepared a sumptuous five-course dinner accompanied by the appropriate wines, served to the sound of the romantic music of acoustic guitarist Pepe Gonzalez.

President and CEO of the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association, Jorge Pesquera, escorted by his wife Marina, joined Miguel & Marquez in welcoming the important guests among them the airline’s Direct of Business Planning, Joris Wels, Revenue Controller, Jeroen Stenenga and Direct Business to Business Sales, Hans Ritman.

Several members of the Aruba Tourism Authority were included as well, helping entertain and inform the dignitaries among them Humphrey Vrolijk, ATA Director for Europe, Fritz Israel, Director of Marketing, Roy Hart, Michael Thonissen, Jerusha Rasmijn, Sjedy Feliciano and Glennie Tromp.

Martinair flies to more than 50 destinations worldwide, and carries more than two million passengers annually. Departing from Amsterdam, the airline flies to over 20 destinations in the Mediterranean region such as Spain, the Canary Islands, Greece and Turkey. Intercontinental flights serve the U.S., Canada, and great parts of Central America and the Caribbean. These flights are sometimes carried out as charters, but usually as scheduled service departures.
