RENAISSANCE FOOD FESTIVAL

Oranjestad -- The much-awaited Food Festival at the Renaissance Marketplace heralded the arrival of the month of December. All stores were open until 11 p.m. and all restaurants featured special deals.
What made it fun was the abundance of live music. In front, adjacent to the movie-theaters Gaita Originales launches its new party CD.
The all-girl gorgeous band put on an excellent show of year-end favorites.
They were dressed fabulously, all made up and glamorous, and truly livened up the marketplace facade.
At the far end next to the Plaza Café, Marisela and her combo entertained, while facing Tropical Grand Café, Tsunami enjoyed an enthusiastic audience.
Kids were kept busy at a special activity corner where they were also given colorful helium balloons.
The promotion was put together by Zugheila Lindberg from the retail office.
It attracted many locals and tourists and featured bargains at the stores, reduced cinema tickets, and a festive holiday atmosphere.
The food festival was very well-attended despite the sprinkle of occasion rain . . .
