Kay was born in Aruba in 1937 and graduated from Lago (Seroe Colorado) High School in 1954. She attended Duke University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, with a major in art history. She taught art for 30 years and now produces art (acrylics, drawings) of aruba scenes. Anyone interested in seeing her work can e-mail us at lcarlin@cox.net. The Spanish Gold Mine is a famous site on the Island of Aruba. Kay and her husband Larry, married in Aruba in 1961, re-visit the island periodically taking pictures which serve as Kay's inspiration.
