The second concert of the fifth annual Aruba Music Festival featured Lionel Richie in Aruba.

Palm Beach -- The second concert of the fifth annual Aruba Music Festival featured Lionel Richie in the Aruba Entertainment Center in Dakota. That afternoon Richie gave a press conference at the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino in which he promised to sing "all night long."

The internationally loved star was very personal and communicative. What took me so long to get here, he asked rhetorically. Commenting that he loved the island and enjoyed the contact with the Aruban he's met, he also admitted it is hard to believe that thirty years went by, singing. "I sometime would like to say," he bantered," that my father was with the Commodores."

Lee Toffanelli, the promoter of the Aruba Music Festival reported he's been negotiating with the star for many years and was elated that these conversations came to fruition in a form of a sold out concert.

The press conference was hosted by the Aruba Tourism Authority with the Minister of Tourism and the Director sharing the stage with Richie.

In concert, Richie thrilled his audiences by conducting an ongoing sign along, and he certainly delivered on his promise to sing all night long. Concert goers who traveled from 14 countries were not disappointed.
