Eagle Beach -- La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club now boasts a new, energetic Director of Food & Beverage, Rachel Noordemeer. As soon as the non-stop dynamo came on board she revived happy hour by adding excellent music to late afternoons, celebrating the resort’s legendary sunsets.
The new fantastic Happy Hour schedule now features ArubaÂ’s best bands. Most bands play from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., some from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. but any day the music is hot and the beer at the bar is cold.
Three times a week Monday-Wednesday-Saturday, Angelo Figaroa and his Sonic Lab take over the stage. Angelo also plays a lot of original music which he writes and composes.
On Tuesday & Sunday Claudius Philips and some members of his band, Oreo, entertain. Claudius has a regular local fan club wherever he goes, they follow him. He is an unusual musician, mixing contemporary Latin stuff with oldies which he completely re-arranges and re-invents, bringing back the Scaramouch and Visage days – fondly remembered local clubs from the 80s & 90s.
On Thursdays the Equator with Randy, Teddy & Hana delivers classic rock & roll. Hana is an amazing vocalist and a riveting performer.
On Fridays Jairo Boekhoudt and the Party Posse spin the music from a different angle, while basing their repertory on both Latin and American hits.
Rachel lined up much talent and we noticed that Happy Hour just heated up a couple of notches at La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club . . .
