Palm beach -- American Express and the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) presented a well-deserved recognition to Avril Patricia Culley, an individual that paved the way for exceptional service and performance in the tourism industry.
The award was presented during the American Express ‘Salute to the Stars of the Caribbean’ Awards Luncheon, held during the Caribbean Hotel Industry Conference (CHIC 2006) at the Hyatt Regency Miami and was handed over by Dianelys Rodríguez, VP of American Express Establishment Services -Latin America & Caribbean.
Ms. Avril Patricia Culley, Activities Coordinator at the Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort, was recognized as “2006 Employee of the Year,” for her many achievements and complete dedication.
Avril Patricia Culley – The 2006 Employee of the Year started in the Aruba Phoenix Resort on October 1997 as a Pool Attendant and rapidly fit in, with her big smile and ebullient optimism. She won several recognitions and awards – including one at a karaoke festival -, not only because of her passion for work, but also for her constant willingness to help others and develop her already-amazing customer service skills. Avril runs the Activities Department by herself, handling both children’s and adults’ activities with great ease. Described by her peers as a people-person, a superstar, service-minded, happy, and dynamic, Avril defines her life with a simple rule: “When you’re kind to others, you receive kindness in return. By practicing and extending kindness everywhere, I have found happiness, peace of mind, and tranquility.”
In addition to her time- and energy-consuming duties as Activities Coordinator, Avril is a member of the Corporate Impact Group, an volunteer organization that donates food and offers advice to families in need. She is also an active member of the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association’s Sponsor-a-Mile program and the National Coastal Cleanup Fundraiser – and she still finds the energy and dynamism for the Employee Activities Committee, organizing social, sports, and educational activities.
