Beautification projects announced for three Aruban beaches

The Minister of Tourism, Transport and Labor together with the Minister of Infrastructure, Immigration and Environment and the Minister Finance, Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy announced their plans to improve three under used beaches on Aruba. The three targeted areas are Baby Beach in San Nicolas, Surfside on the eastern end of Oranjestad, and the bay at Cura Cubai, at the western end of San Nicolas, which offers excellent conditions for many water activities.

Aruba hosted the Junior Latin American Baseball League for the first time and the community is proud on Aruba’s results so far. The Junior League World Series is a baseball tournament for children 13, 14 and 15 years and takes place annually. Participating countries in this League are: Aruba, Costa Rica, Colombia, Curacao, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Republic of El Salvador, Virgin Islands and Venezuela.

Chysah Verstappen is Aruba's Miss Teen International 2013

Chysah Verstappen walked away with the crown last weekend. The night opened with a presentation by all the candidates themed “Las Vegas” followed by the bathing suit defile. Chysah also won other titles including Miss Teen Photogenic and Miss Teen Congeniality.

The Aruban delegation which consisted of Zyqion Soekander, Zaithyel Soekander and Aschwin Dabian did a great job and they are preparing for the World Championship that will take place in New Zealand.

Aruba's windsurfing champion is currently in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands defending her crown in the 2013 PWA Freestyle Windsurfing Cup. In the Women’s Double Elimination Sarah-Quita Offringa faced Arrianne Aukes in the winners’ final once more after having beaten Yoli de Brendt in the preceding heat.

Wall Street Journal covers 10th anniversary of Aruba's official language Papiamento

Recently the Wall Street Journal published an article about the 10th anniversary of the recognition of Papiamento as official language. In May 2003 Aruba declared Papiamento, next to Dutch, as its official language, after Papiamento has been the native tongue on Aruba for more than 300 years. Celebrate Belgium's National Day today at Taste of Belgium Restaurant Aruba

July 21st is the day that Belgium celebrates their national flag and anthem day and of course Aruba’s Taste of Belgium Restaurant can’t let that day pass by without celebrating this day with all Belgium’s on the island and everyone who would like to join them. This year is extra special since King Albert II is abdicating in favor of his son Prince Phillipe. The chef of Taste of Belgium came up with a special King’s crowing brunch that will be served between 11am and 5pm.

Aruba to host -for the first time- the Junior Latin American Baseball League Series

Starting today Aruba will be the host of the Junior Latin American Baseball League, this will be the first time in Aruba’s history. Last year Aruba won the Junior Latin American League games and consequently represented Latin American at the World Series. Aruba’s teams are positive and mentioned to do their utmost to win this year’s championships again.

International Festival of Dance announced by Cas di Cultura Aruba

From August 5 till August 10, Aruba’s Cas di Cultura will be hosting an International Festival of Dance with workshops and performances by Andraina and Leonid Kozlov, Christine Dakin and Tommie Waheed Evans. Workshops will be given daily and the festival will end with a gala performance on August 10.
